PATTAYA, THAILAND \u2013 September 10, 2025<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Ghana Badminton Federation proudly announces a historic milestone for the nation's sport as Mr. Amitabh Coomar becomes the first Ghanaian athlete to compete at the BWF World Senior Championships. \"\"The prestigious tournament, which has drawn over 1,663 participants from 73 nations, is underway in Pattaya, Thailand, from September 6-14, 2025.<\/p>\n

Competing in the fiercely contested Men's Singles 50+ category, Coomar's pioneering participation marks a significant leap for Ghanaian badminton, showcasing its growing reach and competitive spirit on the world stage. His presence among the globe's finest senior athletes underscores the universal power of dedication and passion for sport.<\/p>\n

Outside of badminton, Coomar is the current Men's Singles U55 National Champion in Ghana and serves as the Business Head at Caraway Pte Limited, a company majority-owned by Olam Caraway Pte Ltd., the holding company for all of Olam's Packaged Foods businesses and Sanyo Foods.<\/p>\n

The BWF World Senior Championships is the highest level of international competition for badminton players aged 35 and above.
