Safeguarding :our Commitment to a Safe Sport

Safeguarding in Badminton Ghana: Our Commitment to a Safe Sport

At the Ghana Badminton Association, safeguarding is our fundamental duty. It is the protective umbrella for every participant—children, young people, adults at risk, players, volunteers, and staff. We are committed to embedding the highest standards of welfare, integrity, and good practice across our nationwide network of clubs, events, and programs.

Our Vision for a Safe & Inclusive Environment

Badminton thrives on community and participation. As we work to expand the sport and provide life-changing opportunities, we recognize our paramount responsibility: to ensure that every person involved has a safe, positive, and enriching experience. We are proud of our ethos of inclusivity and are dedicated to protecting the well-being of all, especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

Our Safeguarding Policy

Our comprehensive Safeguarding Policy provides the framework for this commitment. It ensures that all participants can develop and enjoy badminton within a culture that:

  • Prioritizes their welfare and safety from harm.

  • Empowers them through clear guidelines and education.

  • Listens to their voices and takes concerns seriously.

The Role of Our Community

Creating a safe sporting environment is a shared responsibility. We provide support, training, and clear guidelines for our volunteers, coaches, officials, staff, and parents. By working together and upholding these standards, we maintain the trust and integrity that are essential to the growth of badminton in Ghana.

Reporting a Concern

The welfare of our participants is our top priority. If you have any concern about the well-being of a child or adult at risk within badminton—or about the conduct of anyone in our community—it is crucial that you report it.
