Ghana Badminton, BWF, and WAoS Award 100 Scholarships to Young Ghanaian Athletes FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Accra, Ghana – March 3, 2025– Ghana Badminton, in collaboration with the Badminton World Federation (BWF), Badminton Africa Confederation and the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), is proud to announce the launch of a transformative scholarship program aimed at empowering young Ghanaian athletes. The initiative will award 100 scholarships to dual-career athletes aged 15 to 18, providing them with the opportunity to develop new skills that enhance their career prospects and contribute positively to their communities. This groundbreaking program is designed to support young badminton players in schools and communities across Ghana. Through an online course, participants will gain valuable knowledge and skills that complement their athletic pursuits, preparing them for success both on and off the court. This is the third year Ghana Badminton with its partners has awarded scholarships to over 200 Ghanaian Students in the last five years. The Athlete Certificate is a combination of fun and creative online sessions that are designed to educate athletes to become successful and knowledgeable in their sporting careers. The online course is open to young athletes between 15 and 18 years old and will be completed within three months. On completion, they will also be eligible for a post-graduate certificate in International sports management from the University of London- enabling Ghanaian athletes to have a joint educational, elite sporting life and emerging sports technologies. Program Highlights: Eligibility: Open to young badminton players aged 15 to 18 years. Objective:To equip young athletes with skills that improve their career opportunities and enable them to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Format:Fully online, allowing flexible learning alongside athletic training. Ghana Badminton encourages all eligible young athletes to take advantage of this unique opportunity. Celebrating the Success of Our Rhythmic Gymnastics Showcase! A special thank you goes to our exceptional Director of Rhythmic Gymnastics, Faten Alali, whose vision and dedication have played a pivotal role in developing our athletes. We are also immensely grateful to our esteemed coaching team—Gvansa Abramishvili, Nino Abaishvili, Sanita Prymost, and Anna Brovkina—whose expertise and passion were evident in every carefully executed routine.
