Range of resources to help players with their competitive careers and to map out post-playing career pathways.

Through BWF and the National Olympic Committee, we help provide various resources to help players with their competitive careers and map out post-playing career pathways.
The following links provide the resources for the various programmes:

A.  Player Performance Opportunities

  1. Olympic & Youth Olympic Games Scholarship Programme
  2. BWF Female Participation GrantBWF boosts the development of talented athletes at national and regional levels through various programmes and grants, including for Para badminton through the BWF Female Participation Grant.

B.  Player Dual Career Resources

  1. IOC Resource – Athlete365 Career+Athlete365 Career+ is a programme that empowers athletes to maximise their education and employment opportunities. It supports athletes seeking dual career or post-sport career opportunities, helping them discover their potential and plan for their lives beyond competitive sports. Athlete365 Career+ (formerly called Athlete Career Programme) is an IOC Athletes’ Commission initiative delivered with The Adecco Group.
  2. IOC Resource – IOC Athlete Learning Gateway (Online)BWF players have access to the IOC online athlete resource, including the Athlete Learning Gateway, which offers short courses on nutrition, psychology, career transitions, etc. These courses are available in multiple languages and can be taken at a player’s convenience.
  3. BWF FastTrack CourseBWF has developed a FastTrack Course, which combines content from the Coach Education Level 1 and Level 2 Courses. The course supports the transition from playing to coaching in elite international-level badminton players. The courses are organized in partnership with BWF’s Continental Confederations.
  4. Ghana Badminton-BWF-WAoS Scholarship ProgrammesThe Badminton World Federation has launched various scholarship programmes for dual-career athletes in partnership with the World Academy of Sport. All programmes are 100 per cent online, recognizing that athletes require flexibility at different stages of their careers. The scholarship application process for each programme is determined by the intake timeline. Programmes are open to both badminton and Para badminton athletes.

  5. IOC Resource – Sports Mental Health Toolkit and Resources

a. The IOC has developed the Sports Mental Health Toolkit to provide advice and support Athletes' mental Health. The resources are aimed at assisting Olympic Movement stakeholders in developing and implementing initiatives related to protecting and promoting mental health and well-being in elite athletes.

b. Linkages with Local Universities to award sports Scholarships for continuing Education
