Technical Officials Committee

The overarching body for technical officials in Ghana.

• The Technical Officials Committee (TOC) is the overarching body for technical officials.The Badminton Ghana Technical Officials’ Committee aims to contribute to the future direction of Technical Officials within Ghana to ensure that the Technical Official pathway is future-focused, innovative, and relevant. The Committee provides an advisory role to Badminton Ghana while also delivering operational components of the Technical Official pathway, as approved.
  Technical Officials refer to the Tournament Director, Referees, Referee Assessors, Match Controllers, Umpires, Umpire Assessors, Technical Delegate, and Line Judge. The Committee reports directly to the Chair of the Development and Technical Committee.

Roles

• Work alongside Ghana Badminton staff to recruit, train, assess, appoint, and appraise appropriate numbers of Technical Officials.
• Work alongside the Ghana Badminton Events Committee to appoint suitable technical officials to National and sanctioned events.
• Provide advice to Ghana Badminton on key proposals for Technical Officials with its revised policy.
• Develop training programs for all levels of Technical Officials, including defining standards and skills.
• Ensure that Ghana Badminton-branded clothing is issued to Technical Officials when required at National events.
• Support the Events and Competitions committee in the revision of the regulations.
• Retain and update records of Technical Officials.
• Any other task as assigned.
