Club membership
With over 84 Community Clubs across the country, Ghana Badminton’s Club Affiliation programme allows all clubs to tap into the Badminton Ghana’s expertise and resources.
Ghana Badminton’s Club Affiliation programme allows all clubs to tap into Badminton Ghana’s expertise and resources. There are free and paid-for versions, ensuring that all clubs can forge a relationship with us at whatever level they wish to.
Club affiliation lasts until the end of the season, which usually runs until December 31st each quadrennial year.
Register your club
Associate club
Associate Club membership is free and designed to support new/smaller clubs that are looking to develop and grow. It is also suitable for league clubs who would like to stay in touch with Ghana Badminton news and opportunities. They can participate in Badminton events at non-discounted rates and can receive observership during General meetings.
This FREE club membership is open to all Badminton clubs in Ghana that agree to;
- Provide venue details and key contact information
- Agree to follow best practices, confirm a suitable constitution or governing document is in place, and operate in accordance with Ghana Badminton’s Policy and Safeguarding Guidelines
- Encourage all members to join Ghana Badminton as either free Supporter or paid-up members
Becoming an Associate Club is simple:
- Renew or register as detailed below
- Ensure your Club’s constitution (or equivalent) is up to date, and that it is in line with the national governing body’s guidelines.
- Ensure your Club members are also registered as Ghana Badminton members
- Appear on the Ghana Badminton finder
- Access to a Badminton Clubs website link for your club
- Downloadable welcome pack
- Regular Ghana Badminton newsletter communications
- Access to some Ghana Badminton partner discounts
PremierClub
- The Premier Club programme aims to create a national network of clubs committed to improving player and volunteer experience, sharing excellent practice and increasing participation in Badminton.
- Premier Clubs are given an enhanced level of support and encouraged to work with Ghana Badminton. This is to develop and grow in a way that is best suited to that club and its members.
PremierClub membership is open to all Badminton clubs in Ghana that agree to:
- Provide venue details and key contact information, including committee members in key roles
- Pay your annual Club & Membership subscription dues
- Agree to follow best practice, confirm a suitable constitution or governing document is in place, and operate in accordance with Ghana Badminton Guidelines
- Register all members to join Ghana Badminton as paid-up members
- Have at least one Ghana Badminton licensed coach
- Renew or register as detailed below
- Ensure your Club’s constitution (or equivalent) is up to date, and that you are familiar with Ghana Badminton guidelines
- Ensure your Club members are also registered as Ghana Badminton members
- Decide which of the PremierClub benefits your Club should enjoy first!
PremierClub benefits include access to Ghana Badminton participation programmes, priority access to club support and funding programmes, and being part of the national Premier Club network. The full list of benefits can be found Below, but here are some of the 2023/24 highlights:
- All benefits of Associate Club membership plus;
- Vote and be Voted for during General Meetings plus;
- A Ghana Badminton Club Support Officer as point of contact
- Full access to club management platform
- Access to FREE training equipment per our Schools and Club Development Initiatives and Back To resources
- Eligibility to become a Badminton centre
- Preferential status when applying for schemes
- A GHC 150 discount on one Coaching Course per club*
- A free place on an Umpire Course per club
- Series of free webinars
* Before booking please email events@ghanabadminton.org – please give the name of the club and member wishing to book onto the course – and we will arrange the GHC150 discount.
How to register your club
Club Administrators can renew or register for affiliation using the Membership system. Follow the steps outlined in the ‘Step by Step Guide for Renewing Premier Club Membership’ or ‘Step by Step Guide for Renewing Associate Club Membership’ document (attached at the bottom of the page).
Renewing your membership using Memberships will prevent duplicate information.
For clubs who do not have a Club Administrator, or if you have questions, please contact bkonadu@ghanabadminton.org.

Unregistered Clubs
Clubs who do not wish to affiliate with Ghana Badminton can select the ‘not in good standing’ affiliation.
- These clubs will not receive PremierClub benefits
- These clubs will not receive Associate Club benefits
- These clubs and their members will not be recognized as part of the sports on ranking events.
- These clubs will not receive any benefits due to clubs.
- These clubs will not receive and be conferred any of the fourteen membership privileges in the Association.
- These clubs will not be invited, delegated to or attend any meetings, playing or gatherings.
- These clubs will not be involved in any Badminton related activities at any level.
- These clubs will not be eligible for any Grant unless otherwise qualified.
- These clubs will not receive any governmental, protocol or development assistance for their members
POTENTIAL MEMBERS ARE DISCOURAGED FROM BEING PART OF THIS CLUB (S) -LIST TO BE POSTED HERE SOON
Member not in good standing means a club member and/or an affiliate who, in accordance with the specifications of the Constitution, is no longer entitled to full privileges accorded to a paid-up member of the Association A club NOT in good standing did not meet one or any of the following items:
Not suspended by Ghana Badminton or the WADA Anti-Doping Agency. .
Must participate in the national governing body’s development initiatives.
Membership fees for the current assessment period are not paid in full
The Club Membership Subscription fee for the current quadrennial season is not paid in full
