Board of Directors

Profiles of Ghana Badminton’s Board of Directors and Management Team

Governance Statement of the Ghana Badminton Association

1. Structure
The Ghana Badminton Association (“Ghana Badminton”) is a company limited by guarantee without share capital, representing all members of the sport in Ghana. The Association is governed by an Executive Board of up to nine Directors and is directly accountable to its members.

The Board holds ultimate responsibility for the organization’s performance, strategic direction, management policies, business plans, and financial budgets, with a mandate to safeguard all stakeholder interests. Day-to-day operational and business management are delegated to the President and management staff in accordance with the Association’s Articles.

2. Board Composition and Tenure
All Director roles are voluntary. Directors are elected or appointed for four-year terms, which are renewable.

3. Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Association is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive Board. We have set a target of a minimum of 30% representation for each gender and will take all appropriate actions to achieve this. We are firmly committed to progressing towards gender parity and greater diversity, including representation from Ethnically Diverse Communities and Persons with Disabilities.

To support this commitment, Board vacancies will be advertised proactively and targeted to ensure they reach the widest possible demographics, attracting qualified candidates from all backgrounds in line with our constitution and skill requirements.

4. Board Values Statement
We pledge to be an effective and cohesive Board through:

  • Active Commitment to the highest standards of governance.

  • Open and Honest Communication conducted with mutual respect.

  • Purposeful Exercise of both support and constructive challenge.

  • A Unified Commitment to doing what is right and to sharing, learning, and developing together.
