Welcome to the 2026-27 membership season

Ghana Badminton affiliations expire annually on 31st December. We highly recommend that clubs renew their affiliation ahead of the season to ensure they remain covered under our insurance and continue to access all membership benefits.

Below, you will find all the necessary steps to renew your club affiliation for the 2026–27 season:

1. Meeting the minimum requirements to affiliate with Ghana Badminton

As a National Governing Body, all our affiliated clubs are required to maintain a minimum standard of governance. Clubs should have in place:

1. An Up-to-Date Club Constitution

Your club must have a formal constitution that outlines its structure and governance. A template is available for guidance [Link to your Ghana Badminton constitution template].

2. A Designated Club Committee

Your club must have an active committee that includes, at a minimum, the following roles:
To ensure good governance, it is recommended that these key roles are not held by individuals who are related to one another. We also advise that the Club Welfare Officer is not the head coach of the club.

3. Certified and Registered Coaches

All coaches working within the club must hold a valid coaching accreditation and be registered members of the Ghana Badminton Federation.

If your club has members under the age of 18, all coaches must also hold a valid background check (e.g., Police Clearance Certificate) and have completed a recognised Safeguarding and Child Protection course, which must be renewed every three years.

4. Appropriate Safeguarding Policies for Your Club

Your club must have formal safeguarding policies in place that are appropriate for the age groups you work with.

Once your club has completed the affiliation application, it will be reviewed and approved by the Ghana Badminton Association.

Please ensure all required documents and information have been submitted correctly to avoid any delays in the approval process.

Please note: Your club’s membership benefits and insurance coverage will become active only upon formal approval from Ghana Badminton. This process is in place to ensure all affiliated clubs meet the required standards for governance and safety.

If our team identifies any issues with your application, we will contact your Club Secretary and Administrator using the email addresses provided in your application.

Once your club affiliation is approved, you will receive a confirmation email at your club admin email address.

You can also check the approval status of your affiliation under ‘Events Purchased in your club admin account.

4. Download your affiliation certificate document

Once your club affiliation is approved, you will receive an email carrying key information about your membership benefits, access to Club Hub.

You can download your Club Affiliation Certificate directly from us using the guide here.
