June 5, 2022, Accra-Ghana Entry Open For 2022 All Ghana Open National Championships
With everyone open to take part, either as a casual beginner, intermediate or an elite Badminton performer, this year’s Ghana National Badminton Championships will return In July 09-11, 2022, as the cream of the crop go head-to-head at the air-conditioned four court Trust Sports Emporium in the capital Accra.
With over 156 mammoth entries expected, this is an individual and clubs open championship event with men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles events. The age categories for the Juniors, Seniors and masters are divided into: U13, U15, U17, U19, U30, 30-39,40-49, 50-59,60-69, 70-79 and 80-89.
We have recently revamped our High-performance Programme with increasing global results and participation. This has enabled us to prioritize selected players capable of achieving national glory, experience, and challenge world level opposition as part of their development in line with our Performance Programmes aiming to win African, Commonwealth, World, Paralympic and Olympic podium glory.
The 2022 National Championship is the most important selection event organized this year. We are convinced that athletes from the various Badminton Clubs and shared interest groups in Ghana will perform on a top level and make an unforgettable show which will contribute to the growing popularization of the sport in our country.
There will be a direct qualification and elimination draw process, so everyone can get enough to play–for this year’s event because of the lack of tournament badminton that has been played so far in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID. Instead, acceptances will be made using the Ghana National Rankings from March 2019, followed by a seeded position determined by the Rankings as they stand by Draw date of July 5, 2022.
During this 2022 All Ghana Open National Championships, there would be a great number of talents which will be needed on the National Junior Team towards our plan, which is also allowing for further networking, competition, opportunity to be selected into the national squad and gain educational scholarships.
Corporate Masters players, both local and international residents’ players from across the nook and cranny, will attend the 2022 All Ghana Open National Championships with companies confirming entries, athletes said it is not important to win the games, what is important is that the Championship will make staff play badminton together, promote staff friendship, build business verticals, and to strengthen company cohesion and support a communication& interactive platform, whilst learning from each other and improving their badminton skills.
The winner of each category is awarded a national gold medal and crowned National Veterans Champion in their age category. The runner-up gets a silver medal while the third-place winner gets a bronze medal. We invite clubs and affiliate Associations to enter a maximum of six male players and six female players and three pairs in each of the five events in each age category.
The 2022 All Ghana Open National Championships is a Grade 1 National Tournament, with the highest-ranking points under the National Ranking System. To know more about this Click here

Notable community clubs from Edwanase Badminton Club, Kumasi Club C, Tesano, Waa, Koforidua, OPASS, Akyem Asafo, Akyem Tafo, Stadium, Tema, Ho, Akuse, Elmina Axim, Elubo, Obuasi, Agona, Takoradi, Akim Oda, Cape Coast, Adenta, Achimota, GS Plaza, TIS, Aflao, Honolog, Don Bosco, Sunyani, Asogli and Sogakope Badminton Clubs to mention but a few are taking part in the weekend fun field competition. With previous champions, Tesano Club, Nyakrom Club and Adenta will look to keep their national titles. We have set the stage for new debutants to surprise each and everyone
The event is also attracting sponsors, government, corporate and media personalities in a non-scoring open day trail on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. We would like to invite you to take part in this tournament taking place on July 09-11, 2022, at the SSNIT Ga Mashie Emporium Sports Hall, Accra.
