Ghana Badminton Plans For A More Diverse Governing Body With 15 National Committee Nominations Open.

 Accra, Ghana April 19, 2022– GHANA BADMINTON PLANS FOR A MORE DIVERSE GOVERNING BODY WITH 15 NATIONAL COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS OPEN.

The Governing and Supervisory Body of Badminton in Ghana has expanded its diversity of inclusiveness, with a more diverse working group and the Board has today launch volunteer recruitment applications for these working groups in all its playing, shared interest groups and the public.

Badminton Ghana also seeks to broaden diversity across its structures to ensure it is more representative of the age, gender, and diverse backgrounds who play or are associated with Badminton.

In line with its 2027 Strategic Mission Plan, these diverse working groups will focus on achieving an action thematic plan with the aim to: increase representation and increase the diversity of representation with a key criterion for selection of quality, skills, and eaxperience; great badminton people who add value rather than hitting numbers and quotas.

Ghana Badminton President & Board Chair Yeboah Evans said: “We are very pleased to share how we will communicate and bring together everyone on board through these national committee’s formation following our independent review of our reporting structures, diversity, and inclusiveness. This is a part of Ghana Badminton’s renewed commitment to open communication with our stakeholders; a crucial element in connecting the badminton community towards our aims to grow participation, support the core of the sport and expand our major laurels for the country in line with our 2027 Mission Strategic Plan Programme. We aim to compete and win at the very highest level, and this will help us learn from other sports and independent experts in creating a world-leading sports performance environment.”

The 15 Committee working groups will advise on a series of recommendations to help Badminton Ghana create an optimal and some exceptional talent in a variety of roles like 60th Anniversary Dinner & Awards Committee, Badminton in Schools Project -Shuttle Time Board, Coaching Commission, Development, Events Competitions Committee, Finance & Admin, High-Performance Commission and Marketing, Media Communication Committee. The rest are Medical and Sports Science Commission, Members Advisory Group, National Premier League Board, Para Badminton Board, Sponsorship Committee, Technical Officials, Women in Badminton Commission and Legal, Governance Review.

Through these involving structures, and the use of mentoring and leadership support, focusing on developing a strong pipeline of diverse talent, which helps to strengthen diversity enabling in our 2027 Mission Plan to ensure safeguarding protocols are developed, clearly communicated, and appropriately implemented. The Success outcomes for these committees works will improve the current relationships between structures on the programme, undertake a review of the leadership and governance structure of the National High-Performance Programme-Integrating a comprehensible world class Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) support, including industry standards for sports science, medicine and wider education and our supporting leadership and general outreach support for non‐centralized coaches and players across the country.
