The announcement was made official by the Badminton Confederation Africa (BCA) and Badminton World Federation following a highly competitive bidding process involving many countries.

The 2025 Africa AirBadminton Championships will serve as a qualifier for the inaugural AirBadminton World Cup, set to take place in November 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
