National Rankings

Ghana Badminton operates a national ranking and rating system, including singles results from domestic ranking events and international matches. These represent the final rankings for the 2024/25 season.

Read more about the rankings and ratings lists.

  • The ranking/ rating year runs from 1 August to 31 July. It has separate quarterly lists for men and women in the Sub-Junior (U15), Junior (U19), Senior (open-age), and Veteran (O35) age groups.
  • The lists are each published in two formats: ‘rankings’ for Ghanaian-eligible or resident players competing in Ghana Badminton competitions.
  • Additionally, ‘filtered’ lists are available for sub-categories in the main age groups, e.g., U13, U15, U19, etc. The Ghana Badminton ranking system is a relative ‘head-to-head’ system with weightings for different tiers of events and bonus points for higher-placed finishes in tournaments.
  • The rankings system is refreshed each season as players progress in age eligibility or become inactive. The opening season rankings for the current season can be seen at the bottom of this page.
  • An asterisk (*) denotes the BWF override in live lists. This is the mechanism by which players who appear in international rankings are shown in the same order in domestic rankings lists.

Individual players who have participated in a ranking tournament in the current season can see an Audit Trail of their results and the effect their results have had on their ranking/ rating. Athletes indicated by an asterisk are fixed at the top of our rankings by their position in the BWF Rankings, regardless of whether or not they have appeared in any domestic events.
