Volunteer
Give Back to the Ghana Badminton Community and explore national career prestige benefits.
Ghana Badminton hosts events and programs that would not be possible without the many volunteers who help. The Ghanaian Badminton community is a tight-knit group of people, many of whom give back to their community, for which we are eternally grateful.
If you are considering volunteering, here are some great volunteer opportunities:
Coaching

Officiating
There are two different officiating opportunities:
Umpires are essentially scorekeepers and rule enforcers who oversee badminton matches. Umpiring badminton is another great way to be involved in the community, especially if you love watching the sport, networking, meeting new friends and, most importantly, for national glory.
Referees oversee the entire tournament and ensure that it runs smoothly. They are also in charge of umpires.
Officiating is a great way to be involved in high-level badminton play. There are opportunities to umpire or become a referee on a national and international stage.

National and International Events occurs most times per our national calendar and always needs volunteers. There are also badminton coaching opportunities for events, and details will appear on the website closer to the 2024 date.
A Ghana badminton team manager is chosen to accompany the team based on funding arrangements from government and individual sources. Details appear on the 2023 Website. Visit the calendar for more information.
General/Other
There are other volunteering options as well. The medical team can give medical help when needed, and this can also include helping run an event as tournament director during a tournament, helping drive athletes to and from venues (when national events take place in Ghana), and more. Don't hesitate to contact Ghana Badminton at bag@ghanabadminton.org to see how you can help!
